League Notes

Week One:

The first night is in the books, and things went pretty well. No one dropped their boat off the trailer, or stepped in a livewell, or…oh wait…Brandon Anderson wasn’t there.
J The weather was hot, but for most of us, the fishing was not. We have 16 teams this year, and two new teams top the leader board. Derrick & Tony placed first with 13 points, followed by Brian & Tim with 12. Brian & Tim only measured one fish, but it was a 25+ inch Walleye which ended up being worth 10 points…the most a fish can be worth. Derrick & Tony got their points by quantity, boating 3 Walleyes and one Pike.

We’ll see you at the Lower Hay Lake landing on June 3rd at 6:00!

Week Two:

Two things are obvious after our event on Whitefish…it’s going to be a fight to the finish with all of the points that are being put up this year, and Brian & I have forgotten how to catch fish. Maybe we should have a sing off category each night…hmmm.

It was a squeaker, but Craig & Brandon scored the most points with 22, followed by Brandon & Steve with 21. We also had three teams with 20 points, so it can’t get much closer than that. Tony & Derrick walked away with the big fish pot, and we had two dog fish caught! I had to go to the rules on the dog fish thing, because I wasn’t sure if you automatically got a point if you caught one or not, but the team that catches the BIGGEST junk fish gets the point. That went to Sam & Tim. It could take the big fish pot though, but it wasn’t the biggest fish of the night…just the ugliest. I don’t think we’ve ever had more than one of those fish measured. There’s a first time for everything, I guess.

It was a great night to be on the water, and it’s only going to get better. I appreciate you guys having your own release bag, because it did speed the measuring up. We are fishing on Roosevelt NEXT WEEK, so please make a note of that.

You can check out the official standings at www.fishitliveit.com later today. I’ll see you next week!
